2012 Spring Travel Team League
For the Eighth Year, the WOGC will host a Spring Travel Team League. This league will be open only to NSA Sanctioned travel teams. This is not a recreational league. This is open only to 8-U, 10-U, 12-U and 14-U teams.
Format: Each team will play a total of ten (10) seeding games on five different Sundays. Each team will play two games on the Sunday’s that we play. The dates that we play are already posted below and on pitch2fast, upcoming tournaments. Some of the games will be back to back, and some teams will play one game have a one game break then play your second game. The seeding games will end Sunday April 1st. All seeding games are played on Sundays. The championship games will be a double elimination format, play starting Saturday April 14th and finishing Sunday April 15th. The Saturday April 14th, is the only Saturday we will play.
Teams: We will take at least ten teams in each age division with the exception of 8-U’s which will only offer six slots. If the 8-U does not fill up, those slots will be distributed to the remaining age divisions. Once the tournament begins, we will not take any new teams.
Game times: No game will start prior to 8:30AM nor later than 5:00PM by plan. This is so that the players can get home at a decent hour for school the next day.
Entry Fee: The entry fee this year will be $685.00. Entry fees are due by Feb 1, 2012 and include balls, trophies, umpires etc. Payment must be received by the due date to avoid losing the slot.

2012 Spring Recreational Softball
The West Orange Girls Club will be holding registration for the 2012 SPRING Season. This is a rec-league and is open for any girl between the ages of 5 and 16. Registration and tryouts will be on the following dates:
SATURDAY, JANUARY 7, 2012 - 10:00AM – 1:00PM
SATURDAY, JANUARY 14, 2012 – 10:00AM – 1:00PM
SATURDAY, JANUARY 21, 2012 – 10:00AM – 1:00PM
SATURDAY, JANUARY 28, 2012 – 10:00AM – 1:00PM
Evaluations will take place at the bottom of each hour.
(If possible, please register on one of the earlier dates so there won’t be long lines on the last days.)
You only need to show up for one of the dates. Tryouts are for skill level determination only. Every girl will be put on a team. Tryouts will start at the BOTTOM of each hour. Each tryout session should last about one hour, but will vary depending on the number of girls trying out at each specific time.
Bring a friend!! We will put ONE FRIEND on the same team as long as each of you requested each other on the registration form. Siblings that need to be on the same team will need to sign up under this rule.
Registration fees are $95 for ages 8-16. $60 for ages 5 to 7 playing coach pitch.
Players receive uniform shirt and socks, as well as a trophy the end of the season.
Please add $2.00 for the players Name/Nickname on the shirt.
There is a $10 discount for each additional sister after the first one is registered at the regular fee. The teams will be formed and practices will start shortly after the last registration date. Teams will practice twice a week. The coach of each particular team will pick the two practice days. There will be no Wednesday or Sunday practices. Practices usually start at 6 pm and will last about 90 minutes. The 13 up age division will start at 7:30pm. Players MUST attend the practices TO ASSURE PLAYING TIME. Your coach will tell you your days and times.
Games will be mostly on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
There will be 3-4 Saturday games. Opening day, one in the middle somewhere and closing day.
This league does participate in inter league play with other leagues. Parents, Coaches and Players are notified as soon as possible after those games have been scheduled.
Depending on rainouts there may be additional days added to the schedule.
***Parents! The girls club needs your help! Please consider joining our Board of Directors. Many of our board members have left recently as their daughters have grown too old to continue to play at the girls club, they have moved, or for other reasons. For the girls club to operate we need more volunteers. There are many ways you can help including fund raising, organizing concessions, and helping with field maintenance and basic clean-up. Please ask at registration what you can do to help. Our Board meets the SECOND Monday of each month at the WOGC @ 6:30pm.
We are looking for volunteers for coaches and assistant coaches in all age divisions, (especially COACH PITCH coaches). Please contact Melanie Finley if you are interested in coaching.
